My Own DVD Player

Color me happy....

I guess I have "some splainin' to do". Okay, let's back up....Mom bought Dad the set of Star Wars(T) on DVD for Christmas. Our DVD player was about 5 years old and wasn't advanced to play all of the discs properly, so Dad bought a new DVD player. Ah ha.....but the old one was in perfect condition? Right Dad?

Now about the beginning of October (no kiddin') Mom starts with "is it to early to watch Christmas movies?" And Dad's reply "yes". It's like a family tradition, honest, it never changes. But now MY DVD player is upstairs in ~~the~~ my craft room - COLOR ME HAPPY! So, I can watch movies anytime I want and it can be Christmas all year.

Well, after Dad set it up for ME of course we had to test it to make sure it played correctly. My all time dream for Dad to say to Mom, "pick out a movie and let's see if this works", I thought I was going to faint, my old, bent knees were weak, was I hearing correctly? Of course Mom brought in one of OUR favorite movies and Dad set it up and turned it on. HEAVEN, I was in Christmas year round HEAVEN!

And....the "bestest" place in the whole wide world to be is in NYC at Christmas. And there is the Empire State Building. I just had to tell myself, "breathe Prudence, deep breaths, breathe..."

Have a beary happy weekend. You know what I'll be doin'! Giggle. Christmas time, happy time, let's watch Charlie Brown, Mom. It's only 298 days till Christmas! Yippee.

Well, it was a busy week. My good buddy, Alf had a great joke to play on LuLu & Flora. But first...let me explain somethin' - they aren't the sweet little kids that you think they are. Oh, they look sweet but what goes on here is that they are always misbehaving. They upset Mom's stuff, snoop around in her jewelry box, and take stuff. They mess with my stuff, and they even go into MY bedroom and jump on my bed because

they have to share a room, and they're so jealous. They even look in Dad's wallet, do you believe that? I saw them do it....

As you can see, I take after my Mom, I am left-pawed.

Yesterday the mailman had a special delivery envelopie thingy for me - it was addressed to MISS PRUDENCE CLEARWATER, and it was from Camp Good Bear.

I have been invited back and the mostest exciting part is that I am going to be a Bearselor for Arts & Crafts. They had talked to Mom about this last year when we left but nothing was ever mentioned until now.

So I am busy filling out the applications and bearcause I will be teaching A&C Mom doesn't pay the fee for camp. The form says that there will be 2 classes a week. And this year camp won't be 10 weeks - there were so many homesick bears that it will only be 6 weeks, so I won't be leaving till the beginning of July.

Last year while I was away LuLu & Flora posted on Fridays, but now that I am a bearselor I can bring my own laptop.
Mom, can I please take yours?

Hm, Mom is so weird. She has been working on "our" little Primitive Cookie Cutter Babies and as she finishes them she is packing them away.

"Sweetheart, I am just storing them until the fall, then we can put them up for adoption."
"Okay, but I just want to show our bunny, after all it is almost spring and that means Easter."
"Go ahead, honey, but just the bunny for now."

Hannah M. Hare is made from a rather fluffy gray felt, Ultrasuede ears, with stained wooden feet and wrapped wire arms. Hannah is 5 1/2" tall.

Molly Brown

It' Funny Friday

We would like to share pictures of our Molly Brown. We have to be fair and we wrote about Jessie last week so without further ado......here's Molly.

Again, I don't remember when it happened but Dad calls Molly LBD (Little Brown Dog). Molly spent the first months of her puppy hood in a shelter, they are feed, sheltered and safe and that is the best that can be done and we appreciate all the work and volunteers that are part of animal rescue.

Molly is very sweet, just like Jessie, and gentle. She is very timid and has many fears, one being thunder and lightning. After having her for 6 years (her anniversary was January 19) she finally comes to us and lets us cuddle her during storms, we also have pills to help her relax. Her other serious fear is riding in the car. Mom says she has never heard of a doggy not loving car rides. But she also knows that with a rescue there is always baggage, so we deal with that and hope we can change her fears with an abundance of love - and it works.

Molly & Jessie are great together, there is no Alpha and they just love to play, sleep & eat together. IF we had to say one thing negative about Molly it would be that she chews on Jessie's whiskers - Jessie just sits there and seems to enjoy the "grooming" but....she doesn't have those long, black "bee-u-tee-ful" wickers, she has little stubs.

Have a "doggone" wonderful weekend, and give big hugs to your precious pets.

Jessie & her "Sucky Baby"

We don't know how this began but shortly after we adopted Jessica (Jessie for short) she was rummaging in their toy box. M&D had bought this moose for Molly Brown but it was a bit too big and Molly is so shy that she never touched it. Enter Jessie...

One day Jessie pulled Moose out of the box and began sucking on it. We never could figure out why but she is very quiet and content with "Baby", yes we changed its name and she knows her by that name.

Jessie never forgets where she left Baby and she will not bring her to you or play rough with her. When Baby gets really nasty we throw her in the washing machine - so far they can withstand 2 washes before having to be replaced. Mom counted and we think this is Baby #12. We always have one in reserve, just in case...and when M&D come home from being out the girls are always waiting, they have their "hoopla", get a doggy treat and then Jessie runs to get Baby. She doesn't bring her to them but jumps up in the chair and starts sucking. Molly Brown wants more attention and then a good butt rub - this is the routine.

Weenie Girl arrived on Monday. We snuggled all afternoon.

Teddy Bear & Puppy Love

Okay, Mom caved in - it's been a rough week with LuLu and Flora whining all over the place about wanting their own pet. M had this amazing idea....well, I thought of it first. So this is what we did....

We went into Mom's miniature collection and took Katie Kotton Tail and Oliver Mouse and gave them to the little "bear brats", or is it rug rats.....I don't know. Anywho, that worked like a charm (what does that mean?) and they are all smiles and content. Ah, silence is golden.

Enough of that....let's talk about Mom. Over Christmas she has been busy designing and her first in her "Primitive Cookie Cutter Babies" series is Merrideth M. Mouse. Yes, I know the spelling is incorrect but we like to put our own spin on names, just b-claws. Anyway, Merrideth is a mouse made from a pretty mohair. She will be up for adoption later this year, Mom has several other animals that she wants to make before the "adoption process", she finished Heather Grey Hare (bunny) and Crystal M. Clove, who smells like cloves & cinnamon. (o: Here's Merrideth:

Well, of course I am teasing....you don't think I am going to show the picture do you? Nope. Oh, and a funny thing happened - M was making a doggy and when she designed the ears it didn't look like a doggy so it's now a bunny. What a hoot...and this is what I have to put up with.....

Dad bought Mom a Photo Shop program for Christmas and she has been learning (well, with his help) and she did this all by herself. Not bad for a beginner.

I wanted a puppy for Christmas - nope, no puppy. But wait, am I disappointed? No. Being a bearbrat? No. Pouting? Nope, ya know why....

I got my puppy, just not on Christmas Day. Mom adopted Weenie (pronounced Winnie) Girl from

Mellisea's Creations She hasn't arrived from the Netherlands yet, but she is on her way,
I can't wait for her to get here. Mom is tracking her coming across the ocean and said she is very safe and anxious to get to her new family. Color me happy - my very own puppy.

Now what do we do? LuLu & Flora were so busy watching their wee tree now they are disappointed that they missed so much of our Christmas Traditions. I tried to keep them busy playing with our prezzies, having tea parties, and taking naps under their trees - but they are pouting.

What a surprise when we woke up from our nap. Two Christmas trees - we were so excited we got the bearcups. Then we started to giggle and they got worse. Finally Mom came in and told us we had to settle down. She & Prudence brought hot chocolate (with honey of course) and cookies and we had a little party.

Ya know what happened? LuLu bearcupped while sipping her hot chocolate and she had a "nose burp" (now you all know what that is, right?) and she sprayed chocolate all over Mom. We laughed & laughed. Then Mom "throwed" a marshmallow at us and we started laughing all over again.

Yesterday me & Mom were downstairs and we heard the strangest sounds, like something heavy being pushed, or dragged on the carpet. We looked at each other, "huh" we said in unison. Then we each took off, I went through the family room to the stairway, Mom took the short cut through the dining room and BANG. Ouch, we crashed into each other.
She grabbed me up and ran upstairs and there our hearts started to melt. Little Lulu & Flora are so "ascared" that somebody will take their wee tree that they won't come down and enjoy all the Christmas festivities. And this is what we saw....

We had to stop for a moment, Mom was crying and couldn't see the view finder clearly but what happened next made both of us weep.

Flora was helping Lulu climb into their cradle.

and, they sleep....knowing their wee Christmas tree is close by...

Merry Christmas little sisters, Merry Christmas.

The wee ones are sound asleep and Mom put this taller Christmas tree next to their wee little cradle. And I found the teddy tree topper that had been packed away a few years ago.

They will be so surprised when they wake up. I love them so beary much! (Oh yeah, this would be tree #9) There's no stopping her and Dad said; "just let her go, what's one more tree?"

Let there be Christmas trees...

"It's the most wonderful time of the weekend"

Here we go again, Mom a/k/a The Christmas Decorating Elf is making life difficult for us. She is shouting orders, giving everybear a special task and the house is a mess, a total wreck, I tell you.

Let's see, I counted 3 Christmas trees up for Thanksgiving, Dad is working on putting the lights on the HUGE living room tree, my craft room wee tree is up and the it looks so beary sweet.

The little tree in the kitchen is done, the one in the laundry room (easy, peasy cause it just has lights). Now she is working on the tree in the entry way, "how many is that Dad?" "TOO MANY, Prudence." Eight, no wait I must have miscounted - 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 - nope, I didn't make a mistake.

I need a turkey sandwich. BREAK TIME! NAPPY TIME! Where's my blankie? What? We can quit for the day? Honest? Whew...my job is done. Tomorrow Dad has to decorate the outside and then help M with the greenery on the banisters (we have 3, in the entry way, & upstairs) then he gets to work alone putting the lights on that. He looks tired, M has dark circles under her eyes but she won't quit. Molly Brown & Jessie are stretched out on the bed sound asleep with visions of doggy treats dancing in their heads (giggle), I just made that up.

Tonight we get to watch a Christmas movie, and I get to pick one. Yippee. I have a wonderful life, a good M&D, sweet puppies, and LuLu & Flora. They didn't even lift a paw to help us. They say they need to stand guard over our wee tree. Huh? Like who lives here that would even dare to think about touching that tree?

It's Funny Friday

Gosh, do you remember me?

Hi. Boy have I missed posting the last week or so. I was busy helping Mom at two craft shows last weekend and I'm beat! We had lots of fun. At Good Shepherd we were out in the bee-u-tee-ful weather and boy did that make me sleepy. Whew...then we came home and had to catch up on our online craft show. What would Mom do without me? (I don't want to know.)

I did have one scare though. I was sitting minding my own business (sure) and 2 ladies wanted to buy me. YIKES, I jumped off the stool and dived into my cozy travel bag. And that is where I stayed till Dad came to help M pack up and take us home. Whew.....but those ladies "reeeeee-ally" loved me. (o:

Being such a good bear and helping M so much I had a real special treat - I went on a mini vacation to the beach.

LuLu & Flora had to stay home with the bearsitter. Do you know what they did? LuLu talked Flora into climbing into one of the packing boxes that was being mailed from our craft show. Mom got to the post office and heard a kicking sound. Oh boy, did the "fur" fly when she ripped open the box and out jumped Flora. It wasn't a pretty sight. Long story short - IN TIME OUT (again), I mean how stupid was that? So, it was all about me at the beach (o: and I loved every minute.

FRIGHT NIGHT

Hi Everybody. BOO! We are having Friday Night Carpet Picnic Fright Night. It's okay, Mom isn't makin' it scary cause she knows I'm "ascared" of things that go bump in the night.. But that's okay.

We are havin' eye balls (lean ground white meat turkey with little white cheese balls in the middle), tater tots, and green monster fingers (stuffed spinach leaves rolled up) and lots of "blood", Mom is makin' homemade vegetarian chili and that will be for floating the eyeballs, and dippin' the monster fingers into.

My little Halloween tree

Mom came home with this 3 pack of Charlie Brown (T) holiday DVD's, she said it is for me "...just b-claws".

Dad bought Practical Magic & Hocus Pocus on DVD's, so that is what we will be watching tonight. I never saw the movies so I will be wrapped up in my security blankie, tight up against Mom, just in case. It's goin' to be a fun & cuddly evening.

Close Encounter

It's Funny Friday

Whew, what a week. M and I had so many errands to run. The first stop was the post office - no biggie- I watched the packages while M drove. I didn't go in cause I was tired.

Next stop - Goodwill - and that is where I met a close encounter of the scary kind. When M got back into the SUV from the post office I had climbed into the second row of seats to rest. I settled down on a nice soft bunch of fabric and sorta dozed off. All of a sudden I was being handled - not by M but by a stranger.

I opened my eyes and a man was reaching for me - I screamed - M screamed - the man screamed. We all screamed - but not for ice cream. "NO! NOT HER" M screamed, "not the bear just the pile of fabric". Whew...

I was dazed, in shock, frightened, but M to the rescue. She introduced the man to me and he shook my paw and said, "why Miss Prudence it is a pleasure meeting you, I know you from your Blog". "Huh, me - you know me", was my reaction.

I looked at M and she had a twinkle in her eye (not a Twinkie, although I was pretty hungry) and I'm not sure if that man really reads my Blog or if M told him to say that. But I did relax and managed to smile at him.

I was exhausted....but one more stop, the grocery store. Again I opted to stay put so M took my Halloween shopping bag with her and told me to wait cause I was going to be very surprised.

I got my candy & little cookin' pun'kin. (o:
That's my mini quilt that M made for me last year. I take it with me wherever we go.

Another mini project

Mom and Prudence are off doing errands so it's all up to us. We think they are bringin' home a little cooking pumpkin for Mom's famous (we think) homemade pumpkin pies. She is sooo funny - she doesn't care for sweets and never eats what she makes - but that's okay, there is more for Dad. Oh, does he love her pumpkin pie.
It's that time of the year - fall cleaning. Oh, it isn't so bad, Mom has a routine and of course Prudence helps (?), that's another story. Giggle.
All she has left is washing and ironing the curtains.

We have a funny story to tell you. Do you know what a "snood" is? Well M&D watch White Christmas on the eve of Christmas Eve every year and there is a scene with Bing Crosby asking Danny Kaye if he put the train tickets in his snood. Year after year they would laugh and say "what's a snood"? Oh, they guessed it was underwear, a girdle, and the list goes on....
One day Mom was catching up on reading her favorite Blogs and there it was - A SNOOD. Our sweet friend, Shelley over at Simply Shelley
had posted a picture of the hat (Snood) that she had crocheted. Sure enough, the good old Internet has pictures of them. Why M&D never looked there is beyond us. So that mystery is finally solved. It will be funny to see them watch White Christmas this year, wonder what their comment will be about the snood? They're a hoot....that's pretty obvious - look at the foxy picture.

Yuck, window cleaner

Ya know what Mom told us? She said he was lookin' at us and thinkin' "what a tasty morsel". Give us a break!!!! NOT.

Congratulations to Miss Iris at
Boo-Bahs Little Sunshines

Here is the Mouse House that Mom made for us. Wee Wendi the Witch is a creation by Carol over at
Buttermilk Creek Farm , (Carol is working on an amazing Thanksgiving piece right now) & Mom adopted her and named her Wendi. Well, she arrived and sort of just stood there with no place to call her own.

That's when the magic began.
The little woodland mice that live in our woods found a perfect pumpkin for Wendi to live in. They nibbled and nibbled all night to make a perfect opening. The deer got involved next, they rolled the pumpkin to the door so Mom could bring it inside, well, after they ate the pumpkin seeds. (o: Then the other woodland animals began to decorate it, and they scurried all over finding just the perfect materials.

Oh, one little fox dragged the glue over, a little squirrel found a cork and made a table from it. A bunny sneaked into Mom's craft room and found the perfect fabric for the tablecloth, and they all worked and worked.
Then the little birds, led by a Hummingbird (they are getting ready to leave and head south), gathered up moss and other materials for the opening of Wendi's house. As we were all working they brought a few autumn leaves for the top of the pumpkin - it was the perfect touch. That chandelier - they had to come to M for help. They knew Wendi needed a light but didn't know M had this bee-u-tee-ful thingy to hang in her house. So the little animals helped Mom as much as they could hanging the light.

Now Wendi has her new mouse house and she is very happy.
Mr. Bones is very friendly and keeps a protective eye on Wendi, and makes sure that all her little woodland friends come to visit. He also has his
eye on those apples in the wash tub. (o: Little Wendell looks like he is making sure he gets the first apple.

Happy First Day of Autumn

Here come the girls....

They're everywhere, they're everywhere.

They keep multiplying right before my eyes. They're like wee little clones - well, they are wee Christmas tree angel bears for wee tiny trees. I have to admit, they are sweet. M has been busy working on things for the craft show in November and she is putting the finishing touches on making Wee Wendi's Pumpkin Mouse House for us, I'll have pictures shortly & I bearly get to spend time with her any more. And that makes me sad. I want to help her but it seems that I attract messes and mishaps. Yup, spilling glitter all over the floor, overturning a bottle of glue (and we all know that teddy fur and glue do not mix).

Oh, and then there is the ribbon thing - Mom buys silk ribbon for her miniatures and it seems that when I try to help fold the ribbon onto a card I am all paws, the ribbon gets tangled, it knots - picture - bear in trouble. (o: But it's the thought that counts, right? Of course....

Mom just read this post and decided that I need more attention so we are going to do a lot more things together. COLOR ME HAPPY!!! YAHOO. There is no living with those two. They walk around all proud and showing off, their heads are bigger than beach balls, there is no living with them, I tell you. They are always at MY puter, laughing and picking out names that they like, and the worst of all - they constantly are reminding me that I DID NOT have the option of naming MY Blog. No, I didn't.....guess who did that? Yup, the Brainy-ack herself - MOM! Oh, she thinks she's "hot stuff, boy does she ever.
