Hi, Everybeary, WELCOME.
Here is a fun and easy little craft that makes a bee-u-tee-ful gift "ornament" or a wee little ornament for the Christmas tree.
Winter Hat
Supplies: 30 pieces of yarn cut 18" long
1 - 1" wide ring cut from toilet tissue roll, paper towel roll, or other
Fold an 18" length of yarn in half, feed through paper ring loop first. Two loose ends through loop, pull tight to form knot.
Fold an 18" length of yarn in half, feed through paper ring loop first. Two loose ends through loop, pull tight to form knot.
Continue until paper ring is completely covered, divide lengths in half, twist one half a few times and pull through ring.
Make sure to firmly pull yarn ends so you have a nice, tight "hat brim". Now continue with the other half in the exact same way.
Tie the loose ends with a piece of the same yarn, it depends on you how tall you want the hat, mine is 2" from the bottom of the brim to the tie off yarn. *Make sure you leave this piece extra long, it will be your loop for hanging on the tree. Just use an 18" piece of yarn. Now the fun - trim the loose ends about 3/4" from tie off. Snip to make a bushy "pom-pom" on the top of the hat. Make your little hanging loop and snip excess yarn.
Here is our little wire tree with several winter hat ornaments.

Candlelight at Biltmore Estate
It's Funny Friday
by Prudence
Our new tradition
Hi Everybeary
This is our second Christmas tour of the Biltmore Estate by candlelight. It's almost magical as night falls and the tree lights turn on, both inside and outside. The family asks that no interior pictures are taken and and we do honor those rules, but I can't begin to tell you of the bee-u-tee-ful decorations and all those Christmas trees, at least one in almost every room.
It's a self guided tour, so you can take as much time as needed to study each room that is opened for the tour. We have been on the regular tour many times and it never fails that we see something that we missed the last time, there is just so much to see. Mom loves the vintage toys under the trees and oh, the nursery is just out of a storybook. Many of the children were born in that nursery, although Mr. and Mrs. Vanderbilt had only one child, a daughter, Cornelia. Cornelia had her children in the same nursery.

Biltmore Winery
It's Christmas Friday
by Prudence
Hi everybeary, tired? I am. But I have a few last minute pictures to show you. A few days before Christmas Mom had to get her allergy shots, since it's only a few minutes further to Biltmore Estate they decided to go to the winery and then The Gate House Gift Shop (Mom had a 25% off coupon).
As they were walking up to the restaurant and winery a sweet little Mockingbird decided to sit on top of the wine barrel.

A little bit of history. Cedric was the Vanderbilt's pet St. Bernard.
I love this statue of Cornelia and Cedric.

And I'll wrap this post up with #11. Now that doesn't count all the little trees scattered all over the place. Monday I am calling CDA (Christmas Decorating Anonymous), Mom needs help.

All most Christmas......
It's Funny Friday
by Prudence
Hi Guys
I guess I have writers block, or maybe Blog Block, or maybe (according to Mom) Blog Butt - not so funny, Missy Mom. Not often do I have nothing to say, there is always something in this "nut house" to write about, but with it being so close to Christmas everbeary here is on best behavior, yup, even the two little troublemakers, LuLu & Flora.
This is our Christmas card that Mom sent this year, she FINALLY took a good picture, it's our back porch view.
It was taken last April just after a late snowfall. She did pretty good, so she decided that every year we will send one of our photos as a Christmas card.

Another bee-u-tee-ful picture (giggle). Okay, okay, so I'll show you more Christmas pictures.
Den (downstairs)
This is the "kitty" tree, all the ornaments are cats, many handmade, most have a story, many are from dear friends. The topper is from Fancy Feast®, it's gold, made of glass and has "Fancy Feast" engraved. Mom adorned the base with a bee-u-tee-ful bow that Miss Tabitha had on Mom's prezzie a few years ago. The red sleigh is from Grandma's decorations, it's quite old and beaten up but it just adds character. The green reindeer are from a craft store, they were on a super-duper markdown after Christmas. The wooden reindeer are from an artist in CA. Mom bought them at a home craft show. Again, we have two sets, one was Grandma's.
Mom's little tree by her chair, these are all Hallmark® mini decorations.

The 2 Sugar Plums
Molly Brown & Jessie. Both rescues and very much loved and way over the top spoiled. Is there any other way? Nope.
Merry Christmas, I love you.
