Last big project..........

It's Funny Friday
by Prudence
Hi, Everybeary.
Mom said that this is the last big project in the house.
Okay, this WAS what the fireplace looked like, it was awful, ugly, made the family room look cold and uninviting.  So once again, Dad to the rescue, he designed the new hearth, choose the stone work and our contractor took a piece of old Spalted Cherry tree and made the mantle.

The old...
There was an opening above the mantle, that was where the telly was.....first we just closed it up until we were ready to redo the entire wall.
Hearth and mantel in place.  That piece of drywall was where a television was when we came to look at the house, we all laughed.  So, bye bye hole over the mantle.  Zip.
View from the Family Room.  Yes, the porch is 30 feet above the backyard, but the front of the house is at ground level.  It's called "living in the mountains".  (Giggle)
From the middle French door.
Molly Brown and Jessie
And....here is the new fireplace.  It changed the room completely.

Hope you enjoyed the tour.
Have a wonderful weekend.

That was my Halloween picture with our October ornie.  Yes, I was secured on the railing but the ornie wasn't.  Giggle.

I'm back.....

It's Funny Friday
by Prudence

Hi, Everybeary, I'm back home and enjoying catching up on all the activities up here in our craft room.
Camp was wonderful and we are filled up for Summer 2017, but there will be a new bunk house built so that more new bears can stay, one bunk house for boys, one for girls.  There are future plans for a new "cub house" too but not sure if that will be ready for next summer.  Everybeary had a great time and the little cubs, who cried when their bearents left them on that first day, cried even more when it was time to say goodbye.  It's tough, we see each other once a year, spend several weeks together and then in a flash it's time for our goodbyes.  There are lots of stories, but...what happens at camp - stays at camp.  Giggle.

So, I hear that Vlad did a wonderful job posting, and LuLu & Flora were at their peak at being nasty little bears.  But, honestly, I missed them bunches, and when they saw me walk into the house.....here is what it looked like

On fire....with projects

It's Funny Friday
by Prudence
Guess what?  I received this bee-u-tee-ful Easter card from Wilbur.  The lilacs are from Mom's garden, they are her most favorite flower followed by Lily-of-The-Valley and Johnny Jump-ups.
The "to do" list is getting shorter.

Good Morning, everybeary.  My teddy bear head is swimming - another room box, yes - we found yet another one packed away after moving.  As it turns out it was a perfect find, Mom couldn't fit one important piece in The Lady's Hat Shop, it is another Cynthia Howe online class, Making A Hat.

So, I came up with making a ladies fashions room and using the piece along with a few mannequins, shopping bags, anything to do with a ladies shopping spree.
The mannequins looked sorta bleak just standing there so I went to work.

It's tough, having no fingers but I made two bee-u-tee-ful dresses out of scrap fabric from other projects.  Mom was so thrilled when she saw them, so now I am in charge of all fashion designs.
Here it is all finished.

Thank you for dropping in, we always love your visits.

...and the list grows

It's Funny Friday
by Prudence

Greetings.

Okay, last time I told you snowmen were the #1 priority this year - and yes, I speak the truth.  But...also on the "to-do" list is membership in Ornament Girls by Staci Ann Lowry,
November Ornament
December Ornament
(January kit is in the mail)

and Mystery Stitch Along by Rebehak L. Smith.  Two clubs that have a monthly project, we already made our November and December ornament, and the Mystery Stitch Along has just begun with our first mystery applique piece coming in February.

Other than that, we are doing 12 Days of Christmas gift exchange again this year with Miss Carol over at Buttermilk Creek Farm.  Can't tell you more, Miss Carol may be peeking in the window.

Vlad goofed on New Year's Eve, he took a nice long drink of Mom's ginger ale, yeah, you guessed - it was champagne.
"Mom, it's so bright in here..."
Have you ever seen a tipsy vulture?  Tis something you would never forget.  You see, they fart - I mean FART - like knock you off your feet, give them alcohol - yikes!  Oops, not allowed to use the "f" word.

"Prudence, the way you are giggling up there I am assuming you are using that  word, and I am not pleased with you right now."

Oh boy, I'm outta here.......

Hugs,
Prudence

I'm grounded!

LuLu and Flora with be posting while I'm in time out.
"Hey, dummy, I'm gonna do the posting and you can watch."
"Oh yeah, fiber brain, I want to write."
"Flora, you are so annoying!"

We announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.

As part of the plan starting the week of Jan.11th, 2016 we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.

We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.

We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.

Projects...continued

It's Funny Friday
by Prudence

Hi Gang.
Well, it's been real quiet around here, and real cold.  I mean COLD!  Last January we broke a record, it was -3, and I find this so funny to say, but it was only 5 one morning last week . ♫ "Heat wave, we're havin' a heat wave, a tropical heat wave.  The temperatures rising..........
Oh boy, I need a vacation.
Okay, Mom continues right on track with finishing up some UFOs (UnFinished Objects).  This is what is going on in the craft room....
NEEDLE PUNCH
This is her first needle punch project.  The kit is from Vermont Harvest Folk Art by Doreen Frost.
"I enjoyed this, instructions are extremely detailed and I am glad that I choose one of Doreen's kits as my first project.  As you can see, it still needs framing."

English Paper Piecing (miniature quilt)
Mom's very dear and sweet friend, Cindy, (in Westminster, CO), sent her this kit.  Cindy introduced Mom to paper piecing, and has sent her several bee-u-tee-ful kits for mini quilts.  I will show them to you in a later post.  One still isn't started.
Ready for the backing which will be the solid red fabric.
Below - first starting.

Heaps of Hugs and have a wonderful weekend.
Love,
Prudence ♥
