House Tour Part 2

It's Funny Friday
by Prudence
This picture was taken through the entry way, upper window.  Mom made the wreath, the bears are looking out towards the woods.
Okay, lots to show you so here goes....
Laundry Room, and the wonderful "prim" tree that Carol (Buttermilk Creek Farm) made for me two years ago.  The Santa screen I made several years ago.  Actually I made 2, one for my Mom, which I have now in the family room.

Little scene on the washer.  Notice Carol's mousers, just ONE of many that she created.

Craft Room
Big brother 'n lil brother (tree), that makes 3 4 in the craft room, Mom has a pretty wooden with wire branches tree on her desk. No, wait - we're up to 5, the little bears have their own tree but with no decorations.
Family Room tree and fireplace

My prezzie and card from
Wilbur
But I won't share with you what he wrote in the card, that's between the two of us.  I named my Koala  Joey.  Thank you beary much, Wilbur.
More next week...I'm afraid if I sit here any longer Mom will wrap a string of lights around me, I'm SERIOUS.

How Many?

It's Funny Friday
by Prudence

Happy Thanksgiving, hope you had a wonderful day with family and friends.
It's the normal "frantic" day after (but plenty of leftovers for the weekend), Mom is all wired, shouting orders to me and Dad.  Molly Brown and Jessie are sound asleep on the bed, visions of leftovers dancing in their heads.
Mom did her best decorating last year, we moved here on 11/16 so with the tons of unpacking, Thanksgiving and then Christmas she didn't get all the things done that are her "traditions".  Well, this year it's "full blown out Christmas". Let's see, trees in the den, family room,  dining room, craft room, kitchen, and the laundry room.  How many is that?  Only 6?  Shh...please don't say that to her, PLEASE!
Well, let's begin with the outdoor decorations - okay, you can't see the front of the house from the lane, we live on a mountainside, our "drive by" traffic consists of the bunnies, squirrels and wild turkeys (let's just call it our foot traffic).  Hope they enjoy her effort.  I'll show you those pictures next week.
Okay, so far......"roll that Christmas tree footage"

Oops,  technical difficulties (Mom is being difficult) I am not allowed (e x c u s e  me) to do the "tour" until next week.  Can you tell, Mom is tired and cranky?  Ah, these family traditions.
Dad, Mom NEEDS a turkey sandwich!

Shh....what she doesn't know won't hurt her (giggle).  See ya next week.

Let there be Christmas trees...

"It's the most wonderful time of the weekend"

Here we go again, Mom a/k/a The Christmas Decorating Elf is making life difficult for us.  She is shouting orders, giving everybear a special task and the house is a mess,  a total wreck, I tell you.

Let's see, I counted 3 Christmas trees up for Thanksgiving, Dad is working on putting the lights on the HUGE living room tree, my craft room wee tree is up and the it looks so beary sweet.

The little tree in the kitchen is done, the one in the laundry room (easy, peasy cause it just has lights).  Now she is working on the tree in the entry way, "how many is that Dad?"  "TOO MANY, Prudence."  Eight, no wait I must have miscounted - 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 - nope, I didn't make a mistake.

I need a turkey sandwich.  BREAK TIME!  NAPPY TIME!  Where's my blankie?  What?  We can quit for the day?  Honest?  Whew...my job is done.  Tomorrow Dad has to decorate the outside and then help M with the greenery on the banisters (we have 3, in the entry way, & upstairs) then he gets to work alone  putting the lights on that.  He looks tired,  M has dark circles under her eyes but she won't quit.  Molly Brown & Jessie are stretched out on the bed sound asleep with visions of doggy treats dancing in their heads (giggle), I just made that up.

Tonight we get to watch a Christmas movie, and I get to pick one.  Yippee.  I have a wonderful life, a good M&D, sweet puppies, and LuLu & Flora.  They didn't even lift a paw to help us.  They say they need to stand guard over our wee tree.  Huh?  Like who lives here that would even dare to think about touching that tree?

We're standing guard over our wee tree.
"Okay, LuLu, if anybear dares touch our wee tree you grab their hand and I'll bite it.  Nobeary messes with our wee tree."
