It's Funny Friday

It has been a busy week, new granite vanity tops in Mom & Dad's bathroom arrived, the plumber was here (thought he would be here till Thanksgiving, ugh), Molly & Jessie had their pawicures (giggle) and Mom had to do a turn around trip to St. George Island yesterday (about 84 miles one way).

But she brought home fresh Grouper (last nights dinner) & Gulf oysters  for our "carpet picnic" tonight. Yummy. Oh, and she had a haircut too.

Today is a "me" day for her.  We are being very good and helping clean up the craft room. She hasn't started the little quilt yet, she isn't sure if she should hand quilt or machine quilt.  We think she is leaning toward hand sewing since it's so small. Grammy taught her to hand stitch beautifully with tiny stitches when she was a little girl.  The only thing that she could never learn was to crochet, Mom thinks it's because she is left handed but we don't think so, back to the quilt - we got to pick out the material and which colors should go where.  That was heaps of fun.  (o: And just between you & me (us) she can use all the help she can find. Giggle.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend, with lots of "me" time for yourself.

  1. Tell your mom, I think hand sewing is the right thing for the little quilt, too.
And now, I have something for her... A link for left handed crocheting, now she has no excuse (giggle). I couldn't crochet for a few weeks and learn it in you tube with videos. It`s a great thing. Here the link for her: http://www.youtube.com/show/artofcrochet?s=2 . She'll find a lot of tutorials for left handed there. I hope they are useful for her.
    Have a nice weekend.
    Hugs

  4. Hi Miss Alicia,

Hand sewing it shall be. Thank you for the information on crocheting, Mom will certainly check that site out. She would love to make tiny little crochet pieces.

  5. Ahh, I entirely sympathise with your mum on the crocheting. My mum recently attempted to teach me to crochet (she'd tried the knitting when I was little, but I'm allergic to wool, so avoided that) however it ended up with her rolling around in hysterical laughter, proclaiming that she couldn't understand how I could do such complex things with my hands and yet not master crocheting. She's very lucky a crochet hook didn't end up in a rather unfortunate place!

  6. Miss Katy,

Our "Mum" says "thank you, that makes me feel better and giggle, oh where or where did that crochet hook end up?" Giggle. LOL

Great results from the shopping trip, I especially fancy the gingerbread men fabric.

  8. Hi Sandi,

I laughed myself silly when a friend from OK sent that to me. Yep, I love those Christmas fabrics and can't wait to start on the quilt.
