It's Funny Friday

The day after...Thanksgiving

Well, as you can see the pups are quiet today.  They know the routine...in the retail world it's Black Friday but here it's DECORATE, DECORATE, DECORATE till you drop.
M gets everyone up very early because it's work, work, work.  We don't even get time for that turkey dinner to settle.  Nope, it's time to decorate.  Of course several years ago M decided that it would be nice to have the Christmas tree up & decorated in the dining room for Thanksgiving dinner.  Okay, that made sense.  But it didn't stop there, nope, then it was "gee, we watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in the sitting room and we should have that tree up too.." .(are you counting - that makes 2 so far).
Another year, another idea and yes - another tree goes up for "Thanksgiving", in the family room - now we are up to 3.
Okay - today is the day to decorate?  Huh....what have we been doing for the past week?  Eating peanut butter and honey?  I don't think so, M.  Today the BIG tree goes up in the living room, the smaller one in the entry way (counting?  5 now).  Then upstairs we go - but now the important tree goes up - our baby tree in the craft room. Yippee.  It's little, so let's say now we are up to 5 1/2.  Done?  Nope....another little one on the kitchen counter.  Counting?  Don't - just let M keep putting up Christmas trees. Oh, and then the "new" little one in the laundry room.  Geez Louise - M is out of control....

I'm pooped - it's time for a turkey sandwich and a nap.  Tomorrow is another day - poor Dad did all the lights on the trees and now it's time for him to decorate the banisters going upstairs.  M helps, though, so it goes pretty fast.  From there Dad gets "commissioned" to do the outdoor lights and wreaths on the windows, and 2 big ones on the bricks and of course the "other" lesser decorations. Then back in the house to put the candles (lights) in each window. UTILITY COMPANY - MERRY $$$ CHRISTMAS!!!
I think M is out of Christmas trees - I only hope so....but, then on December 1 Dad "throws the switch" and everything just looks so beautiful.  M says it's worth all the work (she is correct).

Now it's time to get back to sewing that teddy bear for Mom.  So much to do, so little time.  NOT - in my little teddy bear world there is always plenty of time for fun and adventure.

  3. Phew, that wore us out just reading about it. But we did have a good giggle at the tree in the laundry room. We've heard a rumour that LT may have got us a tree this year, so we're waiting patiently to see. She's very scrooge like though, she's making us wait til the 1st of December - bah humbug!

Lots of hugs and sticky, honey covered kisses

  4. Hi Clan,

Oh, it's busy here right now. Well, don't worry because December 1 is on WEDNESDAY, so that isn't a long wait at all. Right?

Don't call LT scrooge - it's toooo close to THE DAY & prezzies. Be careful.

  5. WOW, M is busy. The doggies are just probably tired of watching M do all that work. Perhaps you can snap some photos of the trees while m is working :)

I just put up one this year. I don't have any one coming to visit, so I just do it for myself and Hubs to enjoy.
