It's Funny Friday...
but without Prudence,
 is it really funny?

Sewing Class #3
Prudence, looking very sad....
Poor Prudence is being punished.  We love her dearly but sometimes she is just too much to handle, a real pain in the butt, fresh, selfish, nasty....shall I go on? But we love her to pieces.

Sewing class was difficult for me -  zippers & buttonholes class. Buttonholes though were great, memory and all kinds of neat stuff.  Zippers - EVIL.  I was frustrated, but finally I did a zipper.  Will I EVER do one again?  NOPE, notta chance.  Trust me.

I have to be honest, Prudence is a much better writer than I am.  But I do have a funny story.

Shortly after we adopted Jessie (as a rescue pup) I had been taking pictures with my wonderful digital camera.  It was on Saturday and I left it on the desk where it lived.  Sunday morning we came back from Church and I went into the entryway to hang up my coat and there was my camera - on the floor.
"Kodak has a very distinctive flavor, hahahahaha!  Call Hollywood, I am a great cameraman (camera dog), and I LOVE to eat the camera."  (o:

It did not look good - I could tell it was destroyed.  I had tears in my eyes but I couldn't say anything because I did not see Jessie steal the camera.  So, I gently handed it to my husband and he saw that the memory card survived.  Yippee - at least I didn't have to replace that.  Well, it seems that when she took it her tooth hit the on button and then the "record" button.  (Honest, I am not just trying to make you laugh, this really did happen.)

We put it into the computer, "puter" as my sweet Prudence says, and we just stood there crying.  You can see it in her mouth, one big, white tooth on the side of the photo, she then took it into the dining room and you can see the china closet.  It went into the family room, laying lens up so you can see the ceiling fan.  And then - into her crate (she was still using it for storing her toys) and there it laid, still recording.  And finally the battery gave way and Jessie carried it into the entryway - its final resting place.  Oh, and all this time you could hear a bone chilling crunching noise. )o:

Honestly, I could hardy breathe I was laughing so hard.  Hubby was crying and we now have 7 full minutes of "Camera In Dog's Mouth".  It is priceless.  Our neighbors want us to post it on U-Tube but I won't, I don't want it flying all over the world.  Guess you know by now, I am a pretty private person.

The camera had been discontinued, there was one on e-bay for 3 X what we had paid new so hubby bought me a new, up to date camera.  To this day I miss my other one, but.....

The camera now is under lock & key when not in use.  I did see Jessie looking at it when I had it on the desk and downloading pictures.  I could see the "interest" in her beautiful eyes.

Well, I hope I made you smile.  Life is "interesting" here, even without Prudence.  But to be honest, it's not the same, nobody is making fun of me, calling me  names - and good gosh, I miss it!!! ????

Blessings & Hugs
M

  1. Oh M, your story made me laugh - your poor camera! One year on holiday we spent the whole day at Universal Studios in LA, took lots of photos and finally took a taxi back to the hotel. Chris then realised the camera was missing and he thinks he remembered putting it onto the roof of the taxi while he took of his jacket... somewhere on the road between the Studios and our hotel, our poor little camera was probably being crushed to pieces by traffic. Needless to say, he's not allowed to be in charge of the camera now!

Hope Prudence is okay and not moping too much.

    Hugs, Nicki, xx

  3. I can tell you were between laughing and crying over your poor little camera. What a story! I know what it's like to get used to using a special camera and then have it go belly up. Learning a new one takes time, but it looks like you have gotten it sorted out now. The video would be a good YouTube one but I also understand your not wanting to post it there. Thanks for sharing your story a have a nice weekend!

  16. Sweetie..I was here..read this hilarioius story and made a comment and now today I don't see it...
I still think it would be funny to put it on UTUBE. By the way..what exactly IS UTUBE??
I've never been there but have read about it a lot..

I am so happy you like the house. It was fun watching it come together but there is still much to be done. Right now the rest of the painting of the porch, mailbox, covers for the seats in the wicker chairs..etc. etc. oh and the flagstone walkway! :)
    Hugs and love,

  17. I really love the story about the camera. I'm not sure how I would have reacted. I am so keen on photography that I certainly would miss the camera, but I guess I would have laughed eventually.
