Mater Plant Update

It's Funny Friday
by Jessie
Tomato Guard
I decided that this is too funny not to share and it comes from Jessie's own experience.
Take it away, Jessie......
Woofies, my friends.
Do you remember that I love tomatoes?  And that I have my own mater plant?  Well, I do!!!
Last weekend my first two maters were almost ready, Mom was going to have "hoop-la" (her word for celebration) and help me pick my mater on Sunday.  All was good, Mom checked my plant on Saturday morning - almost ready.  After our dinner she went out to fuss with her plants and walked over to my plant - gonzo - nothing red, zip, nada.
Hey, they were ready to be plucked, so very carefully (as I always do) I pushed the leaves out of the way with my (somewhat large) muzzle, and with my little front teeth took what was ready for the taking.  Nobody saw me, smelled mater on my mouth or mater leaves on my head - success!  But everybody sure knows when I am smelling in the rosemary - they can smell me coming.  (o:
 Guard Duty makes me sleepy.

See you next week, have a doggone great weekend.

And the Monster Mater Plant grows...
(As you can see, or not, our view has changed, we now call the house the "treehouse", surrounded by trees, big, tall, bee-u-tee-ful trees.)
