Owl Felting Class

Hi Gang.

We are going to felting class with Mom today, it's owl class and Mom is making a bee-u-tee-ful blue owl (really, there are real blue owls).

This owl isn't going to be her usual whimsical animal, she is trying to achieve a more realistic owl, of course the colors will be a bit different but on the whole, it will be a blue owl.

He will be perched on a tree base, with branches from our Harry Lauder Walking Stick shrub (real name, but we call him Jacob Snarly). Mom made little pussy willow buds for the branch, they are also felted.

Here are some pictures so far.  Mom started the owl body ahead of class, she likes total quiet and to take her time, coming back several times to work on it further.
