Hello, It's Funny Friday

Well, finally Mom gave me a picture of her latest needle felting project.  This is Wally Koala, he sits on a branch from her Harry Lauder Walking Stick tree, the leaves are from a local craft store.

We're back now, Mom is back to writing her short stories which I will post here, probably once a month.  I promise - it won't be boring (giggle).

Last weekend Mom was at her monthly needle felting class, the theme was "Sea Creatures" and she chose sea otters.

Mom can't help but smile when she looks and them (me too), and says she is very pleased with the way they turned out.

Leaning Tower of Pumpkins

It's Funny Friday

Good Day. I just finished my needle felted "Leaning Tower of Pumpkins" and wanted to share this picture with you. It stands just over 30" tall, has 8 stacked pumpkins and one on the base next to Ms. Crow. The design and concept is my original work.
This was a fun project, it went together quickly, and just as I had visioned in my head ( you know, the scary place).

Baby Ellie is stopping in to wish you all a very merry day. I made this little girl about a year ago, she has her mom who is thread jointed, something that I had not done before in my felting projects. They, along with all my little animals, are in my collection, which by the way keeps growing.

On my worktable currently - two little lambs, almost finished and will be traveling to CO and MI.

Next project will be a test of my patience and skills, a pumpkin totem pole. I have the picture in my head (now, now, stop giggling) and I know what I want, it's the getting there that will be the challenge. I'm thinking of 5 or 6 pumpkins in different colors and shapes, with a few small ones attached to the sides of the large ones, sort of pumpkin warts.

New Little Lamb

Hi, Guys.  It's been a crazy weather week up here in the NC mountains, a few hot days, some bee-u-tee-ful chilly mornings, foggy and of course rain.  It never gets boring.

This is Mom's newest creation, a wee baby lamb.  We haven't named her yet, thinking of something to fit that sweet baby face.

It's time to clean this studio, it's a mess but every time we come up to begin Mom gets involved in working on something, either needle felting or applique so the mess gets pushed to the side.

Vlad is off visiting relatives so I'm in charge of our Blog this week.  This wee little one is Mom's newest lamb, she is made from Sherpa and her head and ears are felted.  She has little feet which are also felted.

Never say never........Mom always ALWAYS makes up her mind before a project is completed, name, setting, etc.  well - almost, and this is one of those rare times things changed.

Winslow was going to sit on a piece of tree trunk with a pussy willow sprig behind him......WAS GOING is the clue,  now Winslow is sitting on the nest watching over the unhatched eggs.   Mom went back and added detail to his face and softened up his wing feathers.  Now all is well and right with the world.

Tis A Mouse In The Pumpkin

Hi Everybeary, it's me again, Prudence.  I'm writing the post today because Vlad and Ralph are getting ready for Halloween (like they aren't scary enough normally).

Last weekend Mom attended a needle felting class making pumpkins, and gourds and here is what she created.

Of course there had to be a critter involved so Mom created Sidney the mouse. His story is this:

Wee little Sidney was tired and didn't have a safe place to take a nap.  All of a sudden there was a lot of activity at a work table with people making felted pumpkins.  Sidney thought; "gee, they look so soft and warm, I bet I could burrow a wee little hole, crawl inside and take a nice cozy nap.  When he woke up he wanted to see what was going on at the work table so he stuck his little head out of the hole and just at that moment an acorn cap fell and landed on his head, alias - a little hat for a little mouse head."  And so he now  calls the pumpkin "home".

Hello, My Preety's.

 

I went to felting class with Mom last week and the ladies created elephants.

 

 Here is Mom's creations, Mom and Baby Eleanor.  Mom Ellie is 5 way jointed (head and limbs).

We had lots of fun together, although Mom did get frustrated a few times, but in the end we are in love with these two Ellie's.
