Close Encounter

It's Funny Friday
Whew, what a week.  M and I had so many errands to run.  The first stop was the post office - no biggie- I watched the packages while M drove.  I didn't go in cause I was tired.

Next stop - Goodwill - and that is where I met a close encounter of the scary kind.  When M got back into the SUV from the post office I had climbed into the second row of seats to rest.  I settled down on a nice soft bunch of fabric and sorta dozed off.  All of a sudden I was being handled - not by M but by a stranger.
I opened my eyes and a man was reaching for me - I screamed - M screamed - the man screamed.  We all screamed - but not for ice cream.  "NO! NOT HER" M screamed, "not the bear just the pile of fabric".  Whew...

I was dazed, in shock, frightened, but M to the rescue.  She introduced the man to me and he shook my paw and said, "why Miss Prudence it is a pleasure meeting you, I know you from your Blog" "Huh, me - you know me", was my reaction.

I looked at M and she had a twinkle in her eye (not a Twinkie, although I was pretty hungry) and I'm not sure if that man really reads my Blog or if M told him to say that.  But I did relax and managed to smile at  him.

I was exhausted....but one more stop, the grocery store.  Again I opted to stay put so M took my Halloween shopping bag with her and told me to wait cause I was going to be very surprised.
 I got my candy & little cookin' pun'kin.  (o:
That's my mini quilt that M made for me last year.  I take it with me wherever we go.

  1. Dear Prudence,
I don't even want to think about you getting bearnapped. Be careful where
you take your naps in the car!
I love your little quilt, M is such a
good mom. What are you making with the cooking pumpkin? Are you going to
roast the pumpkin seeds? They are
    very tasty and salty.
You must have been worn out from the
    errands and the "close encounter".
    Sleep tight.
    Miss Susan

  4. My Dearest Prudence,
I nearly had a heart attack, when I heard you were nearly off to Good Will with the pile of clothes. Thank goodness M yelled hard enough.
It leaves me with wobbly knees thinking about what might have happened. Just watch what you put that furry bottom on in future.
    Hugs Wilbur.

  5. Oh Prudence, Bellamine was horrified when she thought you were getting bearnapped. She really freaked out and she's still shaking, and she doesn't even know what Goodwill is. Mom says as soon as we finish writing this she's giving us our cocoa and honey muffins as sugar is good when you've had a shock. Bellamine says she's thankful you're safe and to be careful you don't get taken by a stranger. Have a good weekend.
    Bunches of hugs,
    Bellamine & Wendy

  6. Abby here... :) Just dropping in to see what's going on. OH..goodness...my slipper socks nearly popped off when I read of your close call! Mom watches me very closely..and I have only been out with her twice. Of course Mele climbed back and forth over me...then slept with her head on my legs! I have a little quilt too...I love it.

Gotta run. I have a feeling Mom is about to ..yep..she has an outfit all laid out for me. :) You know...fashion is really becoming a "thing" with me.
Hmmm..looks like bloomers, my lovely white collar Joyce made for me..and a pretty pink hairbow. :) Makes me smile...and NO socks..(at least I don't THINK so...
I don't mind the dolls at all...as long as THEY MIND ME! :)
    Bears hugs to everyone!
    Abigail.

Whew, good thing M was able to save you:-) You certainly did have a very busy day but what a delightful treat you got at the end. You take care of yourself Miss Prudence and make sure you don't eat all that candy at once!! hehe xoxo
