The 35' Frasier Christmas Tree is delivered at Biltmore Estate

Twas a dark and overcast morning, just perfect for the pomp and circumstance of the Biltmore Estate Christmas Tree delivery. The tree is a 35' Frasier (Frasier's are originally from NC, discovered by Mr. Frasier, and now are very popular in England).
The tree is unloaded by employees, carried into the main dining room and up righted by hand.  It was a wonderful morning and a sight that I will long remember.  Did a bit of shopping at The Christmas Shop (Passholders Appreciation Day with a 20% discount throughout the estate).  November 7 through January 11 (2015) the decorations are displayed.  Half way through all the live greenery (including the trees) is replaced with fresh greens and trees.  It is done overnight while  the estate is closed.
Prudence stayed all snuggled in her blankie in the car, she is coming down with the sniffles, we bought her a wonderful Christmas CD of an old music box collection of Christmas songs.  She has been playing it non-stop.  She sends her hugs and she will see you next week.

  1. Oh thank you for sharing! As you know I would love to visit Biltmore and now especially at Christmas to see the tree!

  2. You sure got a beautiful first snow! And what great photos of the Biltmore. We were fortunate to get to experience this a few times too and it's always special. Touring the house when it's decorated for Christmas is special. I always loved seeing the children's rooms...each with their own Christmas tree and presents and toys under the trees. It's a magical place at Christmas time! Enjoy your weekend...ALL of you! Sweet hugs, Diane and dollies and bears

  6. Herself has been a bit out of action of late, so we're sorry we've been missing, but this looks like a really fun way to spend the day. We had no idea those trees were popular in the UK, our tree identification runs to 'Oak', 'Birch', 'Conker', 'Fir Tree' and 'Not A Fir Tree Or An Oak, Birch Or Conker Tree' ;o)
