It's Funny Friday

It's morning already?  (YAWN)  Mom packed everything (except us) up in the car last night.  We had a pizza party to celebrate going to Camp Good Bear, but Mom had to cry because she misses us when we are at camp.  We finally made her laugh and we just filled our tummy's with pizza, and that made me and Jackson sleepy so we went off to bed.

We were up at 4:30 this morning, way too excited to sleep, so Mom made a nice bed for us in the back of her SUV, our blankies and pillows smell like lavender and we had no problem falling asleep.

Mom woke us up at a nice pull off on the Blue Ridge Parkway and we had our picnic lunch.

We are about 4 hours from Camp Good Bear and Jackson is taking some pictures, we will post them during our stay at camp.  We won't write every week because we are busy having fun and learning about nature, but we will be thinking about you.

Hi everybear, it's me, Prudence.  WOW, are we havin' a great time at camp.  Nobeary is homesick or crying for their bearents, bearents on the other hand,  are really missing their cubs but so happy that they don't want to go home early.

Bearents Day was busy, not as busy as last year though.  We bears that come every year decided that our bearents don't have to come up every year.  So we spread out and are guides for the new bearents, here for the first time.

Wilbur has a huge following, he is teaching fishing (he is THE pro),  how to build a campfire, build a raft, and lots more.  After a LONG day we meet at our oak tree and share the day's adventures, and ideas for the next few days.  It is SO beary wonderful to spend these weeks with him. ♥

Hi Everybear, well it's almost time to think about Camp Good Bear again.  It will be so much fun to see friends again, and this will be the third year anniversary.  Wilbur will be there as a Senior Staff Bearscelor, Sweet Pea will be a Jr. Bearscelor, and a few new junior bears will be joining the staff (more on who later) and our buddy Wil, but I am not sure who else since this year I am not working on reservations.

And there is more camp news, Camp Good Bear now has a special camp for little cubs, Camp Little Bear.  Being the first summer, there is a lot of work to be done and reservations are coming in everyday, I have been asked to head up the first summer so that is where I am right now.

Tony and Toby are all signed up, but Daisy Mae can't go - she is a little piggy and camp is for bears only.  She cries everyday and it's breaking my heart, but we can't make an exception, Wendy over at Lavender Dreams wants so badly to attend and each year we have to say "no dolls allowed".  My paws are tied.

2013 CAMP GOOD BEAR

INTRODUCTORY LETTER

Greetings Bearents and Cubs;

It’s time to begin planning for our 3^rd annual Camp Good Bear Summer Camp.  This year we have some exciting activities planned for our furry little ones, including the Big Race which has caused quite a buzz here.  The cubs had so much fun last year with the girls vs. boys canoe race, and our Bearcelors wanted to get in on the fun so we are planning the event of the summer, the race to end all races – The Tube Race.

Yes, it will be quite a fun event with the cubs vs. our Bearcelors rubber tubing down Big Bear Lake.  It will be a day filled with fun and activities, a picnic, watermelon eating contest (rumor has it that the Bearcelors will be in on this contest too), swimming, an arts and crafts project and ICE CREAM CONES.  This is what we have planned for Bearents Day.

All our cubs who attended camp last year have been invited back and their bearents have pre-registered them, only new cubs need to fill out the application.

So mark your calendars:

July 13 – arrival day

August 17 – departing day

Bearents Weekend -  July 27

On arrival day our Bearcelors and Jr. Bearcelors will be helping everybear with finding their cabin.  We have arranged everybear to be in the same cabin as last year, although there will be a sign up sheet if anybear would like to change cabins and bunk buddies.

All of us here at Camp Good Bear are excited and looking forward to another fun filled summer camp.

It's Funny Farewell Friday

I guess you can see, I don't travel lightly...

♫ On the road again......♫

It won't be long now....Camp Good Bear here I come.  We are leaving today cause M&D like to stop lots of times for leg stretching and I need my snack.  LuLu & Flora need more potty stops than we do so we just leave the day before camp starts and make an adventure of it.  Besides, it gives the little ones special time with me, quality time, cause they have a really hard time saying "good-by" even though it's just for a few weeks.
Mom & Dad decided to stay at the hotel till Sunday.  They say "just in case" a little furry can't stay away from his or her barents, they will bring them home with them and then call the family.

Prudence?
Yes, Lulu....
I miss you so much.
But I'm not even at camp yet.
I know, I just "loves" you so much and when you're not around I am sad.
Me too, Prudence.
I know Flora, but you have Mom and Molly & Jessie all to yourselves while I'm gone.

(Gosh, as much as I love camp it's so difficult saying good-bye to M&D, and LuLu & Flora can't stop crying.  I know Mom has lots of fun surprises for the babies....)

As you can see, I take after my Mom, I am left-pawed.

Yesterday the mailman had a special delivery envelopie thingy for me - it was addressed to MISS PRUDENCE CLEARWATER, and it was from Camp Good Bear.

I have been invited back and the mostest exciting part is that I am going to be a Bearselor for Arts & Crafts.  They had talked to Mom about this last year when we left but nothing was ever mentioned until now.

So I am busy filling out the applications and bearcause I will be teaching A&C Mom doesn't pay the fee for camp. The form says that there will be 2 classes a week.  And this year camp won't be 10 weeks - there were so many homesick bears that it will only be 6 weeks, so I won't be leaving till the beginning of July.

Last year while I was away LuLu & Flora posted on Fridays, but now that I am a bearselor I can bring my own laptop.
Mom, can I please take yours?
Of course, Sweetheart.
Super, now I can still post my "Funny Friday".
Mom, you okay?  Your sniffling.
Oh, Honey, just thinking about 6 weeks without you.....it's okay.  I want you to go and have a wonderful time.
I know Mom, I'm gonna miss you to pieces too.

Meet Grapesee

 "Grapesee" is our newest Primitive Cookie Cutter Baby.  She's a little  bunny who loves glitter and wanted to have "sparkle" on her ears.  This is my first baby with rusted nails for feet, giving her a more "primmie" look.  Hope you like her. (She does have a bunny cotton tail too, of course!)

It's Funny Friday

Hi, it's me.....Sissy.

Hm, our Blog looks good, I like the additions Mom made.  We are one classy act.

Oh, things are back to "normal"...ugh!  Stop staring at me LuLu!  Flora, get off the keyboard.

We had so much fun at camp.  I think Prudence and I get along much better since spending the summer together.  She was so kind to everybeary.  Some bears were having a difficult time adjusting to being away from home and Prudence would sit with them and they would write a letter to send home or she would tell one of her funny "Mom" stories.  One night at the campfire she told the story of Mom being afraid of fish.  Gosh, poor Berrick got the hiccups he was laughing so hard.  Jake forgot to take his marshmallow out of the campfire and it burned to just dust and then that got us laughing.

Peatuna (we call her Tuna for short) spilled the glue at arts and crafts and Sally sat in it which made her behind stick to the picnic bench.  What a mess, it took an hour to get her fur back to being soft and beautiful.  We told her not to look "behind"  (get it - b-hind).  That was so funny, but she cried a little cause it hurt when her fur was pulled.  Prudence started to sing "I Am Stuck on Band-aids"  and everybeary broke out laughing, and then it was all over.  She and Prudence said they are now very best friends, stick like glue friends.  So funny.

Going to "Camp Good Bear"

Well, it's another Friday, and the beginning of June, well - almost.
 

I just wanted to tell you that I am going to (summer) Camp Good Bear for the next 10 weeks.  I really need to get away and recharge my battery (giggle), this family takes the ZAP out of my fiberfill.  Honest, they do.

While I am enjoying myself, away from the family, she will do a post or two (BORING) and I promised LuLu and Flora that they could write something too.  That should be a real trip.  (o:  They can't even spell, it's just cause they are still little kids, and I love them too pieces - most of the time, sometimes, the third Monday of the month.......after the full moon.  (o:

So, I am off.....I love you and will miss you but she gave me her cell phone with "home" programmed into speed dialing (what's that?) so I can call anytime I want.  I wanted to take her laptop but the camp wants us to really have a fun, away from home experience - so no "puters".  (Ha, MY home life is an experience.)  But I will send pictures home and the family will post them for me, she has a new camera and she gave me her little one so I can take a zillion pictures.  (o:
"Oh no, what did you say, Mom?"
Mom:  "Sissy is going with you."
Me:  "Oooooh grrreat, (moan, groan, whine) does she have too?"
Mom:  "The decision has been made, Prudence."
Me: "Siiiiiiiigh" (pout, stomping around the house, slamming doors)
